FOLLOW THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD 

You would have to have been living in a cave if you never saw the classic movie “The Wizard Of Oz” at least once in your lifetime. This 1939 movie starred Judy Garland, whose house was swept up by a tornado in Kansas and carried off to a land far away called OZ.

In this story Dorothy, played by Judy Garland, is told to follow the yellow brick road which leads to the Emerald City, in order to meet the “wizard” whom she is told can help her get back home to Kansas. While following this strange road she encounters three characters, a scarecrow, a tin man, and a lion.

Each of them with problems they are also trying to solve, decide to embark on this yellow brick road in order to find what it is they are seeking. While on this road to meet the wizard, they encounter adversity after adversity all the while being pursued by the evil witch who is trying to stop them.

This story is not too far from our own lives in a way. We find ourselves on the road to success and while on this road we continually encounter many adversities which threaten to throw us off course and distract us from reaching our destination. The truth of the matter is that if we just keep our eyes focused on the destination and not the road then everything can work out in our favor.

When they all finally made it to the Emerald City and met the wizard, in the end they realized that what they were looking for was always inside of them from the beginning, they just didn’t know it at the time. It was the journey while on the road, that was necessary for them to bring it out and not necessarily the wizard at the end of the road.

Keep in mind, that while you are on your own personal yellow brick road of life, you will always encounter setbacks and distractions. The key is to keep your eyes focused on the destination instead and to remember that the journey towards your destination is what determines who you are and who you will become in the end. Enjoy the journey!
