Listen to the Mind Your Business: Crown Holders Master Class  -
Victoria Christopher Murray always knew she would become an author, even as she was taking an unlikely path to that destination. A native of Queens, Victoria first left New York to attend Hampton University where she majored in Communication Disorders. After graduating, Victoria attended New York University where she received her MBA.
Victoria spent ten years in Corporate America before she tested her entrepreneurial spirit. She opened a Financial Services Agency for Aegon, USA where she managed the number one division for nine consecutive years. However, Victoria never lost the dream to write and when the “bug” hit her again in 1997, she answered the call.
Victoria originally self-published her first novel, Temptation and in 2000, Time Warner published that novel. Temptation made numerous best sellers list and remained on the Essence bestsellers list for nine consecutive months. In 2001, Temptation was nominated for an NAACP Image Award in Outstanding Literature.
Since Temptation, Victoria has written over twenty other adult novels, including: JOY, Grown Folks Business, The Ex Files, The Deal, the Dance and the Devil and the popular Jasmine Cox Larson Bush series.
With over one million books in print, Victoria is one of the country’s top African American contemporary authors.
Victoria has received numerous awards including the Golden Pen Award for Best Inspirational Fiction and the Phyllis Wheatley Trailblazer Award for being a pioneer in African American Fiction. Since 2007, Victoria has won nine African American Literary Awards for best novel, best Christian fiction and Author of the Year — Female. After four nominations, Victoria finally won an NAACP Image Award in Outstanding Literary Work for her social commentary novel, Stand Your Ground.
Several of Victoria’s novels have been optioned to become movies, including The Deal, the Dance and the Devil and the Ex Files series.
Victoria splits her time between Los Angeles and Washington D.C. In Los Angeles, she attends Bible Enrichment Fellowship International Church under the spiritual tutelage of Dr. Beverly “BAM” Crawford and she is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Act Like an Author, Think Like a Business: Ways to Achieve Financial Literary Success by Joylynn M. Ross
There is more to being an author than writing, publishing, and selling a book. Many authors dive into the literary industry without first taking the time to learn the business side of being an author or how to navigate the waters of the literary industry.
With an ever-changing industry, mastering the art of financial literary success is something that can take years. But that is what this tool and resource is for; to shorten your learning curve so that you can start making money with your book and literary business now.
Authors should understand their full job description and how to maximize, optimize and monetize that title to help achieve literary success and financial literary success. Whether an author is traditionally or self-published, or has agent representation, their book is their business. The more authors learn the business of writing and publishing, the better relationship they will have with their agents, and the better partnership they will have with their publisher.
Publishers, large or small, that want their authors to have a better understanding of the business of being an author, and as a result bring in more revenue, providing this resource to your authors isn't an option, it's a necessity! The same goes for literary agents as well. The more informed the author is regarding the tasks they can implement and execute to generate book sales, the better this benefits the author, agent, and publisher.
Talk about a win-win-winning situation!  Purchase here:

You'll get to your final destination of financial literary success quicker than you could have without using this book as the vehicle to get you there.

Read article and listen to Terri's talk about how Learning to Connect Your Dots can help you learn how to love living your life.
It’s really about your values.  What is important to you.  What are your goals and aspirations?  Some dots are larger or more important than others.  Some dots change over time, some dots may become less important and die off whereas others may grow in importance in your life.  Our dots are fluid.  As we grow and learn the makeup of our dots change.  Therefore, it’s important to understand how your dots connect.  If you make a change to one dot, you need to understand what other dots might be impacted to be prepared.
The larger meaning of learning how to connect the dots became clear to me after taking an early retirement in 2017.  My house was empty and so was my calendar.  I had absolutely no idea who I was anymore.  I hadn’t thought about me and my dots for so long I had completely lost track of them.  I had no clue what they were or how they connected.
Since realizing this I have been on a mission to find and reconnect all my dots.  It is a constant work in progress.  Identifying your dots and learning how to connect them closely aligns with holistic wellness concepts.  At the core of holistic wellness are the eight dimensions of wellness.
1)      Intellectual wellness is when you recognize your unique talents to be creative and seek out ways to use them.
2)      Physical wellness is when you recognize what is necessary to keep your body healthy.
3)      Spiritual wellness is related to your values.  Beliefs that help you find meaning and purpose in your life.
4)      Emotional wellness is your ability to cope with life and build satisfying relationships with others.
5)      Financial wellness is a feeling of satisfaction about your financial situation.
6)      Occupational wellness is a sense of satisfaction with your choice of work.
7)      Environmental wellness is related to the surroundings you occupy.
8)      Social wellness is a sense of connectedness and belonging.
Once you begin to learn about the dimensions and all of the little things that are inside of each one of them you begin to understand that the key to success or happiness in life is learning your dots, the most important things for you and how they interact, and making decisions about where you want them to be.  This is what I refer to as learning to love living your life.
Life coaching is NOT counseling or therapy.  Unlike counseling or therapy, which involve looking back and working through one’s past, Life coaching is about looking to the future and navigating through the present to reach the goals one has set.

Dr. Severine C. Bryan, Financial Empowerment Educator at Bryan Financial Empowerment LLC was on BAN Radio Show with host Ella D. Curry! Listen to the Crown Holders Conversation with Dr. Severine, go here:
About Dr. Severine Bryan, Bryan Financial Empowerment
Dr. Severine Bryan is a Financial Empowerment Educator who is passionate about financial literacy and has spent the last 17 years sharing her knowledge and educating her audience via presentations, newsletters, Zoom, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other media. Her goal is to help individuals and small businesses with the day to day of their financial lives by offering financial education/coaching on debt management, credit, and basic money management.
Dr. Bryan has always been a teacher at heart. As she tells it, she can remember at about age 8 lining up stones on her veranda and “teaching” them their ABCs. After going through a divorce, walking away from the home she owned for 13 years, and rebuilding her finances, (including paying off $24k in student loans in 16 months) Dr. Bryan is determined to help as many people as possible.
Another trigger for her wanting to share her financial knowledge is seeing predatory lenders taking advantage of those who are financially uneducated. Her earnest desire is to help those who find themselves in a financial quandary become good stewards of their money. She is adamant that anyone can learn to manage their money. Her own financial journey has shown her that managing money, whether it is a small or large amount, is achievable.
Dr. Bryan earned a doctorate with an accounting focus from Walden University and tutored English, Algebra, Accounting, and Calculus throughout her college years; which speaks to her love of teaching/knowledge-sharing!  She also has over 24 years of accounting and leadership experience; having worked in accounting and leadership positions with several major Fortune 500 companies.
Dr. Bryan has one daughter who attends Georgia State University. In her spare time Dr. Bryan loves to bake. She relaxes by dancing and listening to Jazz and Praise & Worship music. She is a voracious reader who is never without a book in hand or on her Kindle. For more information visit:
